I am hungry. Oh. so hungry.

This is not the time of the year for me to decide that I need to watch what I eat.

I love peeps. I may have told you before.

I just decided a few days ago to eliminate sugar from my diet.

Oh. my. Ga.

My feelings are as follows -

Day 1- I am empowered. Who needs candy, anyways. Great feelings. I love coming down from this sugar high. Not a day goes by that I have not inhaled some form of chocolate... boy, I feel great letting all of these toxins out of my body. Look at me drink the water. I am really getting with it. I can do this.. AAAUUUGGGG!!

Day 2- I am starting to slow down some. I know I love chocolate. It is my personal crack. And I am A CRACK ADDICT. Do they have treatment for this? Would my health insurance cover it? Oh, I don't have insurance. Surely, somewhere, someone is out there who is sympathetic and they can help me. I am considering attending a meeting. I neeeeedddd mmmmy cccaannndddyyy.

Day 3- I am lying in the corner whimpering. I love the taste. If I just smell it, can I pretend the taste is in my mouth? How can I do this to my body? Isn't it worse to go thru the withdrawal of no sugar than the actual process of eating three pounds a day?

Yet, still, I have not cracked yet. I may end up breaking into Walgreen's at 2 am for some peeps.

Just imagine - my sweet kids are motherless and in DCS custody because I am serving a jail sentence over chocolate theft.

I need to be medicated.

  1. Ha ha! I'm a Cadbury Eggs addict. Easter is not a good time for me, either! I did read somewhere that the first two weeks of giving something up are excruciating and then it gets much easier.

Honestly, I've never made it to two week, so I wouldn't know!

  2. Gah not peeps! Icky peeps! They are good for a few laughs if you google them. I don't think I could give up sugar at Easter time. It does get easier after about 4-5 days. I did South beach diet for quite some time, and the cravings go away once you adjust.
