Sick. And It's Kinda Good.

So, I got sick on Sunday. It started off with a raging headache, which I attributed to a lack of sleep from being with four thousand kids in a hotel room for the weekend in Gatlinburg. By Monday night, my throat was raw. By Tuesday, I had to make myself move. It was the longest day ever - and not much fun talking in a loud teacher voice to nineteen second graders. Still, I survived. But I knew it was yucky. And even though it made me sicker to do it, I missed student teaching yesterday and went to the doctor. In my head, I kept thinking how I was a cheater, how I was a slacker and now I would never, ever get a job for missing.

So, I go to the doctor, and while I tested negative for flu, I have some sort of crud and an ear infection. I asked for a shot and got it. That is a whole nother story in itself. Then, I got a bottle of amoxicillin and a ticket to stay at home for one more day.

OK, so yesterday, I called my host teacher up and I told her the above story. (I texted her earlier that morning.) She told me that since it is Dr. Suess week, that my lessons were pretty much done, she would see me on Monday morning. Yikes! What to do! Now, I will never work in our county, or the three surrounding counties! They will hear that I got sick, and I didn't student teach every day!

So, for the last two days, I have been in the house ALL BY MYSELF.

I have started the washer.

I took some naps.

No one is TALKING TO ME.

I am not talking either.

I paid my speeding ticket and turned in my community service (another story all together).

I think I have been blessed. I get one more day!
